It was pretty embarassing having to stand at the open window at reception and inform the receptionist what my issue was with a big queue of people standing waiting behind me listening! The reception desk was staffed by one person and there were at least 5-6 people waiting when I arrived on a Sunday, midday. Many of the chairs in the reception were worn and the cushion bit needed replacing as there were bits missing. On the whole the hospital appeared to be clean and tidy, clearly staff are doing their best with what resources they have.

A&E visit Sunday afternoon. I was processed in an orderly fashion in what I thought was good time, despite a busy place. I was not kept waiting too long between tests. Everyone was caring and what was heppening to me was clearly explained. This experience is very far from the criticism so frequently portrayed in the Press.

Overall experience was good, only took 2 hrs from arrival in A&E to departure, however not impressed with the triage nurse who did not complete my notes accurately for the doctors.

I was MRI scanned very promptly and then given a date for a clinic. This process is on-going.

even though there was a long wait because of the volume of people, the service from the nurses and doctors was really good.

The hospital was easy to find and navigate to the relevant department, dispite not having attended this hospital previously. Staff were helpful and organised, although there was a short delay in being triaged and seen by a doctor. Generally maintained a high standard of cleanliness, with staff carrying sanitizing gel to ensure personal hygiene was maintained.

Shame about the long wait! I had phoned NHS direct to check that we wouldn't need to attend A&E (my son had swalloed a £1 coin), but were advised to go, and then discharged with no treatment or investigations (a bit frustrating really, but not the hospitals fault). Having said that, we were still home 2 hours later (which my hsuband was impressed with).
